This is an introductory course to being a ride marshal on larger group rides. The first part of the session is classroom based and we explore the kinds of risks we might identify when planning a ride or marshalling a ride, the role of the marshal and other roles on a led ride, communication between the ride leader and marshals and techniques for being a marshal.
In the second part we go for a group ride, taking it in turns to practice the different marshal roles.
This course is for competent riders.
This particularly course has been set up to suppor the LCC Women’s Ride on 5th March, so please only sign up if you are available to marshal at that event.
