Meet 10am at Waterloo Millennium Green in Baylis Rd (opposite Spur Road and the end of Lower Marsh, https://maps.app.goo.gl/MQypzEA2NzT3uj4r8, ///knots.caves.wisdom ). Start along Baylis Rd to Lambeth North Station then Plane-tree-lined Kennington Road to join CS7 at Kennington Park. All the way down CS7 through Clapham, Balham, Tooting, to Colliers Wood, where it peters out. Then on to Morden and the end of the line. Up to St Helier past the (tucked-away) Baitul Futuh Mosque and down to Mitcham Common. Pick up Cycleway 5 at Streatham Common station and wend our way back to Tooting Common for a coffee stop. Then continuing on C5 through Abbeville village and Clapham Common to Vauxhall and eventually Waterloo. This was a favourite ride during the Covid lockdowns, when the roads were gloriously free of traffic. Nearly all on cycleways, though some traffic alongside. About 39km / 24 miles, only +125m and no big hills. Estimate ride will take 4½ hours, so be back about 1.30. Simon S, leading.
Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
