Ride from Wanstead Park/ Valentines Park/ Fairlop Waters to Hainault Forest

A great day out on the bike with the family.

Hainault Forest has cafes, a Woodlands Trust Visitors Centre, a child friendly farm and Thomas the Tank Engine!! This is a mid-week ride.

We know some people will be on holiday. Others will be at home and keen to get out for the day. Start from Wanstead Park Tea Hut at 10.30am, Valentines Park Mansion at 10.50am or Fairlop Waters Cafe at 11.30am. A fully marshalled return ride on quiet roads, park routes and cycleways. Marshals will support riders at difficult junctions. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This is an ideal opportunity for children to gain more experience of cycling safely on the roads and for novice and returner riders to gain more confidence. Our rides are gently paced, sociable, suitable for everyone and no-one gets left behind. If you start from Wanstead, the return ride is 14 miles.

Assuming the weather is good we should have a couple of hours to explore all the activities at Hainault Forest. Please feel free to bring your own refreshments/picnic lunch or buy from the available cafes.

Please ensure bicycles are in good condition with well inflated tyres and brakes that work. It is always helpful to carry an inner tube suitable for your tyre size. If you have any questions, please email rides@redbridgecycling.org.
