What do we want? Freedom to ride! Join hundreds of women and allies on a fun protest ride around iconic locations in Central London. On the Sunday before International Women’s Day, we’re calling on the Mayor for gender equality in cycling in London, where less than a third of bike trips are by women. This will be a family-friendly led ride with plenty of marshals to keep everyone safe, going through Central London at a gentle pace for around 5 miles.
Waltham Forest Cyclists will lead a feeder ride which will leave at 10am on Sunday 3rd March from outside Walthamstow Library (near Walthamstow Central Station), finishing at the start of the Freedom Ride, in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. We will also lead a ride back after the Freedom Ride.
Please bring a drink, a snack, a spare inner tube for your bike if you have one, and money for any refreshments you wish to buy.
Waltham Forest Cyclists will come equipped to cope with minor repairs, but please check your bike before coming.
Please book to guarantee a place. If you have not booked by the day of the ride, please come to the start point to see if there are places available.
By signing up to the feeder ride you are also considered to be signed up to the main freedom ride event.
