Wanstead Park to The City of London

October 27 @ 10:00 am

Our rides often pass through the City of London, so we have decided that for our last scheduled ride of 2024 we will stop and visit some interesting places within the City. We will visit a variety of places of historic interest and importance within the Square Mile and find out a little about each of them. This should be a fun day where we can all share our knowledge of The City and the History of London. We will all have had an extra hours sleep, as clocks will have gone back on the Saturday evening. We will travel gently on quiet roads and cycle paths, avoiding main roads. The route to the City and the return to Wanstead Park will be different. Children are welcome and have to be accompanied by an adult. This is an ideal ride for anyone trying to build confidence to cycle further.

Bikes must be in good working order with well inflated tyres. We recommend that you carry a spare inner tube for your wheel size. Marshals will help you if you encounter any minor mechanical problems. We recommend bringing a picnic lunch for this ride as cafes in the City at weekends are often closed. We should be back well before dark, but it is time to think about having lights with you in case you are  delayed.
