Wanstead-Woolwich-Tower Bridge

This ride has proved to be very popular in the past. We will leave Wanstead Park Tea Hut at 10.00 and cycle to the Woolwich Ferry. If the ferry is operating the ride will include a short ‘cruise’ across the Thames! (If the ferry is not working there are alternatives.) We will then ride along the south bank of the Thames up to Tower Bridge. We will pass the Millennium Dome and the Cutty Sark at Greenwich, amongst other things of interest. We will cycle over Tower Bridge and back along the northern bank to Mile End Park before cutting up to the Olympic Park and back to Wanstead Park. There are cafes enroute, but most riders prefer to bring their own picnic.
Our rides are leisurely and sociable. This ride is suitable for older children and novice riders willing to spend a day in the saddle to increase their confidence and endurance. Marshals will support the ride and ensure we are all as safe as we can be. To get the best from the ride, please ensure your brakes are working and your tyres are fully inflated. We recommend you carry a spare inner tube for your wheel size. We should return to Wanstead Park before 17.00. Please use the RSVP button below to reserve places. If you wish to start from another part of the Borough, please email rides@redbridgecycling.org so that we can arrange to escort you to Wanstead Park.
We will have to limit numbers on this ride. If, by the time you are ready to book, the ride is full, please email rides@redbridgecycling.org to go onto a waiting list. If you book and then find you cannot attend, please advise us at the same email address as soon as you can. Thanks. Beware, on this Sunday morning the clocks will have gone forward!!
