Woman with baby speaking at dangerous junction protest
What do we want? Freedom to ride! When do we want it? After dark!

This fun protest ride will ‘highlight’ that many parts of London’s official cycle network aren’t safe after dark, especially for women.

Marshal zoom call

This zoom call is for all the marshals volunteering on the Women’s Network Freedom Ride – After Dark!

The zoom will be an opportunity to ask questions about how we plan to mitigate the extra risks and challenges of riding a large group after dark and during the commuter time of night.

We’ll go through the route, the identified risks, the plan to control and mitigate them and the plan for crossing as a group and other factors. This will be an interactive session and there will be opportunity to feedback on the plans and help shape the plan.

In addition to the zoom call there are two marshal training opportunities. It is not mandatory to attend the training if you have already received marshal training or if you have lots of experience. But it is mandatory to attend the zoom call and the rehearsal ride. The rehearsal ride (or final recce) is on the 30th January.

All of the events relating to the Women’s Network can be found here – https://lcc.org.uk/organizer/womens-network/

If you have any questions or can’t attend the zoom call on 22nd January or the rehearsal ride on the 30th January, please email mike.mcsherry@lcc.org.uk and the ride leader Mariam will consider what alternative arrangements can be made.
