LCC AGM 2024 - Information for members

The annual general meeting of the London Cycling Campaign (LCC) is an important occasion. It gives members a chance to discuss LCC’s performance and future plans, engage with the Board of trustees, staff and fellow members, celebrate success and build momentum for the year ahead.

This year’s AGM will be held on Wednesday 20 November 2024, 6.30pm-7.30pm, at Covent Garden Community Centre, 42 Earlham Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9LA. Book tickets.

Motions to the AGM

The AGM is LCC’s highest decision-making body, and members are invited to submit motions for debate and voting. To submit a motion please email it to agm@lcc.org.uk by the deadline of 9.00am Monday 21 October 2024. As per LCC’s rules, which can be found on our website, all motions will be subject to a process of scrutiny and possible amendment prior to the AGM. Members proposing motions will be invited to attend a scrutiny meeting, in advance of the AGM, to discuss it with trustees and staff.

Find out more about motions here.

Board Elections

LCC’s ten-strong Board, elected by the membership, is responsible for governing the organisation and overseeing the CEO and staff team in working towards the organisation’s campaigning goals. It has ultimate responsibility for making sure LCC’s finances are well-managed, as well as ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

There are two vacancies in this year’s election to the LCC Board. The people elected will serve for three years between the 2024 and 2027 AGMs. If you wish to stand in the election, please complete and return a nomination form. Note that candidates are required to be nominated by two other LCC members, but please get in touch if this would be a barrier in any way. Candidates are asked to provide a supporting statement of up to 500 words (examples from previous candidates are available on the LCC website).

LCC is keen to encourage nominations from people who are part of groups underrepresented in cycling and our organisation. This year we would especially welcome nominations from younger people, women and people from London’s diverse communities as these groups of people are currently underrepresented on the board.

Completed Nomination Forms must be returned to the LCC office by 9.00am Monday 21 October 2024 (please note, not the 4 November as previously stated in the London Cyclist magazine, apologies for this error). Full details of how to do so are on the form.

If you would like to find out more about being a trustee before applying (no previous experience of being a trustee is necessary) please have a read of this blog from our current chair Eilidh Murray, and email agm@lcc.org.uk and a current member of the board will contact you to arrange an informal conference call.

Find out more about the Board of Trustees here.
