At the heart of every successful charity is a great team of dedicated supporters who have helped raise funds to enable to charity to achieve great things
LCC is no exception.
Our fundraisers have raised thousands of pounds through sponsored rides and ebay sales, even doing their weekly shop. We’re grateful for every pound our supporters raise: you wouldn’t be seeing progress on Lorry Danger reduction, new segregated cycle routes or improved cycle parking without them.
If you would like to join our team of fundraisers, here are a few suggestions to inspire you…
London Cycling Campaign is registered as a charity with Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving. If you’re planning an epic ride, you can set up a page on either site so that your friends and family can sponsor your efforts online. It’s easy to pass a link to your page by email or through social media networks.
Both sites will automatically claim Gift Aid on donations so the value of your sponsorship could by increased by 25% with no extra admin for you or LCC. It’s a great way of fundraising. You’ll find the pages here:
You can also print out a sponsorship form for those to prefer to donate by cash or cheque here.
If you want to set yourself a challenge for the future, why not sign up for a guaranteed place in a major event and ride for Team LCC?
LCC have guaranteed places for major closed roads events such as the Ride London-Surrey 100 so if you're looking to test your physical and mental strength, signing up to receive Team LCC updates is a great place to start.
To join Team LCC please email TeamLCC@lcc.org.uk, we'll let you know as soon as the ballot for LCC places is open.
You can raise funds for LCC through eBay for charity. It works in exactly the same way as normal eBay, but you can choose a percentage of the final auction price (between 10 – 100%) to be donated to LCC.
So, if you’re having a clearout visit our charity page here to find out more.
Bikeify is a scheme that allows you to raise funds for LCC every time you shop online. If your favorite online store is part of the scheme, you’ll be notified as soon as you visit their site. Additionally, they’ll be highlighted in red if you search for products in your browser. Once you make a purchase from a participating store, LCC will receive a percentage of the value of the final shopping basket value or a one off payment.
If you’re planning to purchase a new bike you’ll find stores such as Evans Cycles, Cycle Surgery and Wiggle taking part in the scheme. And by making your weekly shop with popular stores such as Sainsburys, Waitrose and John Lewis it’s easy for supporters to raise some serious cash for LCC.
To raise funds through Bikeify simply download an app to your mobile, tablet or browser. You can find our more here.
