We're calling on Lambeth Council to deliver FOUR new Low Traffic Neighbourhoods per year, with at least one safe crossing between adjacent LTNs so that more cross-London journeys can be cycled easily, safely and efficiently
2022-2026 is a vital stage in London’s zero-carbon journey. Motor vehicles are the largest and most stubborn source of London’s emissions, and borough councils control 95% of the city’s roads. We need all our councils to act in the next four years and be bold – or it’ll be too late to get to zero carbon roads by 2030. That’s what’s needed for London and Lambeth to do their bit.
That’s why we developed specific, personalised asks for each London borough council in the 2022 council elections to cut road transport emissions fast and enable lots more walking, cycling and wheeling.

Thank you for your email regarding the LCC Climate Safe Streets plan for Lambeth. I have made the commitment.
Alongside the retrofitting and insulation of homes, reducing road transport emissions across the borough is essential to help tackle the climate and ecological emergency. The climate emergency needs to be at the core of all council decision making if we are to help prevent overshooting the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C limit and mitigate the effects of climate breakdown.
