Meet outside Ealing Town Hall from 9.45am for a 10am departure.
This is a scenic ride exploring green spaces and waterside trails.
This ride uses the Grand Union canal towpath to Harlesden, then goes through local parks in Willesden to reach the North Circular and the Brent River. We visit the Welsh Harp reservoir where we pause to admire this oasis of wildlife and green space. We return to Wembley Park where we have a refreshment stop. The route then takes in the Brent River Park, and returns to the canal towpath towards Greenford, circling around Horsenden Hill and returning to Ealing via Perivale and Pitshanger Parks.
This is a ride of 24 miles/ 38 km, mostly flat or with only gentle gradients, apart from the climb up Horsenden Hill. We cycle through some rough terrain in the Welsh Harp and Horsenden Hill so road bikes with very skinny tyres are not suitable for this ride. Please bring a bike lock for our stop at Wembley. We intend to be back by 2.30pm-3pm.
