London Loves Cycling – London Fields to Leaside ride

April 27 @ 10:15 am

On the weekend before London goes to the polls, we will be letting mayoral candidates know that London Loves Cycling.
On the ride we will celebrate some positive recent developments for cycling in Hackney:

  • The reopening of Kingsbury Road bridge (the closure of which had led to a gap in Cycleway 1 existing for a year and a half, which has thankfully now been fixed)
  • The remodelled, much safer and more cycle-friendly Lea Bridge Roundabout
  • The ride will end at Leaside Trust, where you can learn about all the work they’re doing to help people access the health and social benefits of cycling. And also have some tea / coffee.

The route should take us about an hour, at a relaxed pace, starting from outside the London Fields Lido. If you want to join us, we will be leaving at 10:30am sharp, please arrive at 10:15 or earlier.

If you’re not interested in the ride, and just want to join us at Kingsbury Road Bridge to celebrate it’s reopening (we should pass by there about 10:50am), or want to visit Leaside Trust for the refreshments / chat (we should be there by 11:30am) that’s fine too.
