Newham Ride

April 7 @ 10:00 am

This leisurely ride is a circuit of approximately 26km/16 miles, mostly in Newham with a hint of Tower Hamlets, and it is a great way to see the sights and cycleways of Newham. It is predominantly off road on hard pathways (with a couple of very minor exceptions), shared footpaths and towpaths. On a couple of occasions it will be necessary to dismount and push the bicycle. Difficulty: easy.

There will be many stops (depending on progress), including the chance for refreshment at the View Tube (beginning and end), Cody Dock, Trinity Buoy Wharf and the Thames Barrier Park.
The ride will cover The Greenway, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Old Ford, Three Mills, Memorial Gardens, Cody Dock, Bow Creek Ecology Park, East India Dock, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Quantum Cloud, Excel Centre, Royal Docks, City Hall, SS Robin, Millenium Mills, Thames Barrier Park, Brick Lane Music Hall, Beckton Alp, St Mary’s Church and Nature Reserve, Abbey Mills pumping station.

Please bring a drink, a snack, a spare inner tube for your bike if you have one, and money for any refreshments you wish to buy.

Newham Cyclists will come equipped to cope with minor running repairs such as punctures and brake adjustments.

Please book to guarantee a place. If you have not booked by the day of the ride, please come to the start point to see if there are places available.
