Fairlop Waters to Valentines, Wanstead and Olympic Parks
A gently paced, family friendly, sociable ride. You can start at Fairlop, Valentines or Wanstead Park. Fairlop start 11.00, (outside the main cafe/restaurant) Valentines start 11.20 (Outside Valentines Mansion), and Wanstead Park start at 11.30 (Wanstead Park Tea Hut.) We should have time to explore the Olympic Park and have lunch – bring your own or buy from the View Cafe. Approximate return times : 14.30 Wanstead Park 14.45 Valentines Mansion and 15.15 Fairlop. For those riding from and to Fairlop the round distance is approximately 20 miles, for those riding from Wanstead Park it will be 10 miles. The gentle pace ensures all ages and abilities can take part without feeling stressed – we travel at the pace of the slowest! Please ensure your bike is in good working order. Check your brakes and pump up the tyres. It is also sensible to carry a spare inner tube for your wheel size. We particularly welcome children accompanied by an adult and novice cyclists. We use quiet roads, designated cycle routes and parks. The marshals ensure we cross junctions safely. We aim to make the ride fun. A great way to get back on the bike for the summer to come!
